Nadhif ع Download

How to use Nadhif

Ten minutes from download to a cleaner Mac. Nothing here can lose a file: until you press Clean, Nadhif only reads.

Install

You need macOS 15 Sequoia or later on an Apple silicon Mac.

  1. Download the disk image

Get Nadhif.dmg from the latest release on GitHub.

  2. Drag Nadhif to Applications

Open the disk image and drag the Nadhif icon onto the Applications folder next to it. Then eject the disk image.

  3. Open it the first time

Nadhif is signed, but not by a paid Apple Developer ID, so macOS stops it the first time. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to Nadhif. You only do this once.

If you prefer Terminal, this does the same:

    xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Nadhif.app
  4. Allow Full Disk Access

The welcome screen asks for it and has a button that opens the right page. Turn on Nadhif in the list. Without it the Trash and some app caches stay hidden; everything else still works.

Nadhif never turns this on for you. You stay in charge of what it can see.

Your first clean

Three steps, and you see exactly what will happen before the last one.

  1. Press Scan

On the Smart Scan page, press the big round button, or ⌘R. It takes about five seconds and changes nothing.

  2. Look through the cards

Each category gets a card with its size and a Safe or Review label. Open one to see every file with its app icon. Hover a file to read what it is and where it lives. Tick or untick anything.

Safe items are ticked for you. Review items never are.

  3. Press Clean

The bar at the bottom tells you what moves to Recently Cleaned and what, if anything, is deleted for good (only the Trash, after a checkbox). If a browser is open, Nadhif asks you to quit it first.

Use your Mac normally for a day or two after a big clean. If an app misses something, it is still in Recently Cleaned.

Put something back

Open Recently Cleaned in the sidebar (⇧⌘Y). Every clean is listed with its date.

  1. Find the clean

Open a session to see each file it moved.

  2. Restore one file or the whole session

Files go back exactly where they were. If something new is already there, Nadhif does not overwrite it.

After 7 days old sessions are removed the next time Nadhif opens. You can change that in Settings (⌘,).

The other pages

Each one is in the sidebar and works the same way: it reads, explains, and waits for you.

Uninstaller ⌘7

Pick an app and see every file it keeps. Remove it all at once, or clear leftovers of apps you already deleted.

Simulators ⌘8

Tick the iOS simulators and Android emulators you no longer test on. Running ones are never touched.

Projects ⌘9

Remove the node_modules of idle projects. Each shows the command to install them again.

Packages ⇧⌘P

Update or remove Homebrew, npm, pnpm and bun packages, and see which have known vulnerabilities.

This Mac ⇧⌘M

Read the list of settings worth changing. Each button opens the right page in System Settings.

Servers ⇧⌘S

Add a server, connect to it once in Terminal so its fingerprint is known, then press Audit.

Websites ⇧⌘W

Add a site, confirm that it is yours, and scan it. Copy the fix next to each finding.

Settings ⌘,

Appearance, how long cleaned files are kept, size limits, and folders Nadhif should never look in.

Questions

Who makes Nadhif?

Alhamou. Nadhif is proprietary software of Alhamou, with no ads. Its use is covered by the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.

Why does macOS warn me the first time?

macOS trusts apps signed with a paid Developer ID and checked by Apple. Nadhif is signed with a free developer certificate, so macOS asks you to confirm once with Open Anyway. After that it opens normally, and updates keep the same signature.

Can Nadhif delete my documents or photos?

No. Documents, Desktop, Pictures, iCloud Drive, keychains, SSH keys and anything that looks like a secret are never shown, so they cannot be selected. Every path is checked again right before it moves.

Will my browser log me out?

No. Browser cleaning takes only the caches the browser rebuilds. Cookies, history, saved passwords, open tabs and extensions are never part of it. Quit the browser before you clean; Nadhif reminds you.

Does it send my data anywhere?

No files or paths leave your Mac. The only requests are the optional update and vulnerability checks, which send package names and versions, and the SSH connections to servers you add. You can turn the checks off in Settings. The Privacy Policy lists every request.

Does it run in the background?

No. Nadhif works while it is open and leaves nothing running when you quit it.

Something is wrong. Who do I tell?
